What makes us human?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 08, 2008:
There is no great barrier between humans and other like creatures. We are what we are in this realm, just as rocks are rocks. All, and we, serve some kind of purpose and us mammals belong here (as some folk believe we do not). Our joy in the adventure is to discover that purpose, make a list, check it twice and fulfill it. Companionship is the bivouac - curiosity is the engine that drives us on to the discovery.
